The Last Station
Tolstoy, one of the most influential men of the 20th Century, struggled to come to terms with his fame and fortune while preaching the simple virtues of love. The Last Station is a compelling story which tells of a love that is anything but simple. Told through two relationships; Tolstoy's (Christopher Plummer) own tempestuous marriage to his extraordinary wife, Sofya (Helen Mirren), and the new love Valentin (James McAvoy) discovers with one of Tolstoy's followers, Masha (Kerry Condon). The Last Station is a powerful, funny and emotional story about the difficulty of living with love and the impossibility of living without it.
