Actor Jocko Sims made his acting debut in 2004 in an episode of "Cold Case" (CBS, 2003-2010). In 2008 Sims was cast in "Crash"(Starz, 2008-09) as Anthony Adams. His character, an aspiring hip-hop artist performs a live song in the show's third episode, and the song from the episode "Head Up", was released as a single on iTunes. That same year Sims starred in "Something Is Killing Tate" (2008), a feature film. In 2010 Sims was cast in an episode of the crime procedural "Criminal Minds" (CBS, 2005-). In 2012 he appeared in another crime procedural, "NCIS" (CBS, 2003-). In 2014 Sims was cast in "Masters of Sex" (Showtime, 2013-16) as Robert Franklin, a civil rights activist. In 2014 Sims appeared in the blockbuster action movie "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" (2014). In 2014 he was also cast in the series "The Last Ship"(TNT, 2014-). He was a recurring character in the first season and was promoted to a lead character in the show's second season. In 2016 Sims was cast in '70s-set "I'm Dying Up Here" (Showtime, 2017-). In 2018 it was announced that Sims would be joining the cast of "New Amsterdam" (NBC, 2018-) a medical drama.
