Kyla Kenedy

Teen actress Kyla Kenedy proved capable of handling both comic and dramatic roles, as evidenced by appearances in "The Three Stooges" (2012) and "The New Normal" (ABC, 2012-2013) and a central role in a grim storyline in the fourth season of "The Walking Dead" (AMC, 2010-). Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Kenedy began appearing in bit roles on television in 2011 before making her feature film debut in "The Three Stooges." That same year, she played the juvenile lead in the faith-based TV-movie "Raising Izzie"; Kenedy's turn as an emotionally troubled orphan won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special in 2013. Kenedy worked steadily on television in the years that followed, most notably in a recurring role on Ryan Murphy's short-lived sitcom "The New Normal." When that series ran its course, Kenedy earned her showcase role as Mika Samuels on "The Walking Dead." A recurring character in the fourth season of the popular horror series, Mika and her older sibling, Lizzie (Brighton Shabino), served as opposing depictions of how traumatic events could impact children. While the zombie apocalypse installed a healthy sense of fear and self-preservation in Mika, the constant bloodshed warped Lizzie, who turned to killing animals before dispatching her sister in one of the series' more shocking moments. Following a brief return to "Walking Dead" in a flashback sequence in Season 5, Kenedy moved on to other TV projects, appearing opposite Jane Curtin and Rob Riggle in the Fox comedy pilot "48 Hours 'Til Monday" (2015) and the drama pilot "Speechless" (2016) for ABC.
