A group of 12 beloved past contestants and 12 emerging home cooks enter the kitchen to share their love of food and compete.

The contestants split into four teams across four benches to create a dish using ingredients from a layer of the balanced diet food pyramid.

The first elimination of the competition sees contestants in a two round challenge, where the maker of the best jaffle in round one is safe, but the maker of the least impressive dish that changed their life in round two will be sent home.

Contestants try to create an entrancing dish that transports Rick Stein and the judges to a special place, with someone eliminated and missing the top 10.

Guest chef Shannon Bennett arrives with 10 of his favourite pantry and fridge items for the mystery box; the two least impressive cooks move to the pressure test.

Contestants must find a way to make an eggscellent dish using just one egg. Those that fail must scramble for their lives in the second round.
