Frankie realises she has made a blunder when school starts a week earlier than she thought it would, forcing Sue and Brick to make up for lost time. Sue gets her braces removed and Mike loses a game of basketball to Axl, for the first time.

Frankie is stunned when flannel-loving Mike wears a Hawaiian shirt to dinner with friends; Sue puts her foot in it with Devin; Brick becomes overly ambitious while cleaning the bathroom.

Brick is annoyed when he sees a movie trailer at his first trip to a theatre; Sue believes she might have a chance with Logan; Axl and Sean discover something interesting.

The parents are asked to form carpools when the bus drivers go on strike, and Axl studies astronomy to impress a girl.

As the town of Orson celebrates its 100th anniversary, Mike and Frankie somehow get roped into driving a giant cow float in the parade.
