A Town Without Seasons

Hansuke and his cat come to the temporary housing settlement. He finds train-crazy Roku-chan, who runs around town making train noises.

Tatsuya Yoda works hard to support his mother and younger siblings; Shingo, Tatsuya's older brother and a member of the Yakuza, returns home. Tatsuya assumes he has come to beg for money.

Having no news for Mikimoto, Hansuke writes about his cat before noticing a homeless father and son. The son gets them food while the father talks about their dream home.

Two couples, Masuo and Mitsuyo, and Hatsutaro and Yoshie, accidentally trade homes and wives; Hansuke gets a job as a labourer.

Shima-san comes to a settlement, but members of the Young Men's Club are suspicious; Shima-san wins over Tatsuya with the idea of a cafe.

A homeless father and son talk about their ideal home. The son goes about collecting empty cans for food handouts; Tatsuya plans to build an ideal cafe.
