After a civil war leaves the universe in ruins, the last starship captain, Dylan Hunt, and a group of mercenaries set out to restore peace and order to the Commonwealth.

Dylan manages to confront Tyr in the garden, as the team try to disable Andromeda's computer. Dylan has a proposal for Tyr, Beka and Rev, without realising that Trance has survived.

A group of child warriors, bent on causing the destruction of solar systems, is discovered on a Guard Station outside of the Dyhedra system.

During a fight with an enemy, Dylan has some dissension within the ranks as Beka and Tyr question his leadership.

The Nietzscheans try to lure Tyr into their fold with promises of a wife, if he will help them defeat the Andromeda.

Due to a glitch in slipstream piloting, the Andromeda is sent back in time to the days before the revolution.
