Anna German

Anna German was a hugely popular Polish singer whose life was marred by tragedy; known as the 'White Angel of Polish Song', she recorded dozens of albums during her short career.

In 1938, Irma Germanowa, together with her mother and daughter Anna, manage to reach Tashkent. She tries to get any information about her husband and manages to reach the NKVD Board. For now, luck favours her.

Anna befriends Herman Berner, who tells her about Poland. Berner helps Ania's family a lot and he marries Irma. Unfortunately, he is called up to the First Division of the Polish Army.

Ania learns that Herman Berner died at Lenino shortly after the wedding in 1943. Mother and grandmother finally decide to tell what happened to her father.

Anna studies at the Faculty of Geology of the University of Wrocław and is active in the student theatre Kalambur, she also cooperates with the Wrocław Stage.

At the festival in Opole, Anna wins second prize in the drama-literary song category for one of her songs. Her popularity grows and she begins to tour abroad, but becomes tired of constant travel.
