Three years have passed since their adventure and Tai is now a high school student, living a non-eventful, altogether peaceful life. But moments before Tai is about to play a soccer match, Kuwagamon appears, causing chaos around the city.

All seems lost, as Taichi is helpless against the Kuwagamon, that is until the appearance of a mysterious figure.

After borrowing Agumon's strength, Taichi manages to drive back the Kuwagamon, but Odaiba suffers. He begins to worry about the possibly negative reactions, from the public, towards Digimon.

A dangerous enemy appears before Taichi and his friends, as they survey Odaiba. Their Digimon are being defeated one by one, but Taichi is reluctant to do anything.

The reconstruction of Odaiba continues and the Digidestined along with their partner Digimons plan a welcome party for their new friend, Mei.

Mimi and Mei get involved with the planning committee for the school festival. Mimi's leadership skills are criticised and an infected Orgemon appears in Odaiba.
