John Paul Rocksavage is a response cop in Liverpool City Centre. Sav, as he's called, is one of the team's youngest officers and has much to learn. Nothing can prepare him for the day he witnesses a brutal attack on his best friend and partner.

While still unable make any headway with his ex-girlfriend Cassie, Sav is stalked and threatened by Callum Rose, who witnessed a murder. Meanwhile, relationships at work are strained in the aftermath of a death.

Sav interviews potential witnesses to the death of Callum Rose, and is frustrated when detectives fail to charge the third member of Finch's gang with Andy's murder. Sav's desperation to connect with Cassie and his daughter pushes them further apart.

Sav's quest to get Jonjo arrested for Andy's murder draws suspicion from Costello and Sarge. Amanda agrees to pose as a student in an attempt to catch two men who have been attacking young women.
