In Alaska, the Raneys turn a homestead on the verge of going up in flames into a golden opportunity. Later they race to Louisiana to protect a family under threat of vicious storms, black mould and feral hogs.

The Raneys seek to save a woman and her daughter from rampaging moose and help them secure a source of food; Marty builds a bridge across a creek; Matt teaches predator deterrent techniques; Misty builds a snow-proof greenhouse.

The Raneys arrive in Ohio to find the Broadhead family struggling to survive in their home made of 30,000 tire bales. Battling pests, flooding and unstable walls, the Raneys have their hands full in one of their most challenging rescues yet.

The Raneys continue rescuing the Broadheads' tyre bale homestead in Central Ohio. The clock is ticking as Marty, Misty, and Matt work to provide fresh water, strengthen walls, and jump-start an indoor garden.

After a devastating earthquake, Marty saves the Hartleys' log cabin from crumbling to the ground, while Misty replaces a collapsed greenhouse and Matt constructs a brand new building for the family to start a diesel engine repair shop.

The Raneys help an Oregon couple with a toxic salt water well, making it impossible to maintain a food source or livestock. Marty needs clay to build a massive catchment pond, and Matt must build a large scale solar still to de-contaminate the water.
