Inger Brøgger becomes head of SKAT's dividend department. She quickly realises something is seriously wrong: SKAT is apparently distributing enormous sums to anonymous shareholders.

Inger's attempts to tighten tax laws are thwarted by the Danish Banking Association; when the global financial crisis suddenly breaks out in 2008, Hausner and Lebert see an opportunity to turn a profit.

Hausner and Lebert's business model is jeopardised by new legislation; Lebert considers a future without Hausner; Brøgger turns to the minister when her warning signs are ignored.

Anna Nowak of the tax authorities refuses to grant a tax refund to Hausner's new fund; Jensen and Mikkel set up a fraudulent company; Brøgger wants to take action against Jensen and Mikkel's fraudulent company.

Birkwald wants to take on banks and law firms internationally through Eurojust; Brøgger finds incriminating evidence against Jensen.

The former suspects are in a precarious position as searches are underway worldwide; Lebert wants a deal with the prosecution, but that means betraying Hausner; Jensen is on trial in Denmark.
