Portrait Artist of the Year

Celebrity artists paint alongside six school pupils for the first time, selected as part of the Sky Arts Access All Arts initiative.

In the first heat, a new crop of artists look to make a strong impression on the judges by creating a portrait of one of three familiar faces featuring Richard Curtis, Emma Freud and Fleur East.

In this second heat of the art competition, the nine artists find themselves navigating the challenge of creating a portrait of either Jay Rayner, Nihal Arthanayake or Susanna Reid.

The artists are challenged to create portraits of three new celebrity guests as they capture the likeness of sitters Rory Stewart, Ainsley Harriott and Rob Delaney.

Guests Sue Barker, Alan Titchmarsh and Philippa Perry strike a pose as sitters as the painters put their artistic flair to the test to immortalise the three famous faces on canvas.

The artists find themselves tasked with producing another set of portraits to catch the eye of the judges as they welcome Nigel Havers, Mishal Husain and Vanessa Kingori to the sitter's chair.
