Jinnian rescues Anhao when she is bullied during rehearsal. Back in school days, Jinnian's half brother Jiamu is close to Anhao and Anyi.

Jiamu introduces Anhao to Jinnian, and the two grow close. Jiamu's admirer pesters him. Jinnian cannot forgive his father.

Jiamu's mother Ruchu and Director Sun attempt to drive Jinnian out of school. Anhao and Jinnian have a misunderstanding.

Jinnian replaces Jiamu and performs with Anhao. Although Jinnian comes to Anhao's birthday party, Ruchu attempts to keep them apart with various tricks.

Jiamu and Jinnian make up with each other. Vilified by Anhao's aunt, Jinnian moves to another city and takes part time jobs to earn money.

Jiamu meets the beautiful and forthright Xiangsi, Jinnian is pestered by schoolmate Xiajie, and Anhao gets drunk after misunderstanding Jinnian.
