Stephanie Harper, a rich heiress who's been divorced twice, is set to marry tennis champion Greg Marsden; he's been having an affair with her best friend, Jilly, and everyone can see that he's no good -- except Stephanie.

It's been six months since Stephanie walked into her casting agency, and she is now the Vogue cover-girl in a relationship with tennis superstar Greg Marsden; however, her former doctor, Dan Marshall, is in town and tries to rekindle their romance.

Dan Marshall tracks down Stephanie, first by visiting Joanna Randell unannounced, then by visiting the Sydney house where he meets her two children, Sarah and Dennis.
