新野の陰家荘。陰家の1人娘である陰麗華は翼を装着し空を飛ぼうとしていた。男勝りで活発な麗華は、女性らしい立ち居振る舞いが苦手で、家族から怒られてばかりだった。同じ頃、長安の太学で学ぶ劉秀は帰郷することになるが、その道中、富家の娘過珊トウを賊から救う。実家に戻った劉秀は、義兄の鄧晨と共に陰家へ縁談を申し込みに行くが、家長である陰識の反応は冷淡だった。陰識は陰麗華を鄧禹に嫁がせる気でいたのだが・・・。
