Sonny Munroe arrives in Los Angeles for her big break on her favourite show So Random, but she struggles to impress her talented fellow cast members.

Sonny is delighted to finally meet Chad Dylan Cooper: star of the drama series MacKenzie Falls. Upon meeting their star, Sonny learns of the simmering rivalry between the two casts.

After Sonny's cast mates reject her sketch idea, tensions rise between Sonny and the crew. However, Chad Dylan Cooper consoles her with luxurious gifts and tries to lure Sonny over to the Falls.

Sonny is disheartened when she is the only member of the cast to not receive any fan mail, so she decides to create her own. However, when the show wants her to meet the fan, her plot backfires.

Sonny is concerned about an upcoming geometry test, and Tawni suggests she cheat. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady compete to win the attention of a new girl.

Grady and Nico discover that their trusted security guard has started stealing their pizza. Plus, Sonny's best friend Lucy comes to visit and grows jealous when she immediately hits it off with Tawni.
