Sun of the Wolf

In 1924, Chekists receive information that a military operation is about to begin. General Romovsky will introduce several thousand soldiers into Soviet territory from Poland. At the same time, an uprising against the Bolsheviks is planned.

Romovsky quarrels with Sychev and orders him to leave. He then meets Janek Galecki, a former lieutenant, who has just arrived from Soviet Russia.

Plakhov and Janek try to get close to Elena's house, but run into a patrol. A firefight ensues and they attempt to flee, so that the Soviets don't suspect Elena.

Janek reports to Sekundka, informing him of his meeting with Mikulenka and the transfer of the "lard" and "hops". The latter informs him that he has been tested and will be placed at Mikulenka's disposal for the duration of the current operation.

In 1924, a young Cheka officer receives vital information regarding an invasion by the White Russian emigrant troops; Ostanin is assigned to prevent the invasion by becoming a confidante of General Romovsky.

Janusz and Janek meet at the boarding house, where they reconcile and reminisce about the past. Janusz suspects that Janek's appearance in Mirsk is no mere coincidence, but promises not to turn him in.
