The Song Contest

In 1968, Esteban Guerra, a young broadcasting executive, discovers that an order has come down from above: Spain must win the Eurovision Song Contest. Eager to climb the corporate ladder, he gets involved in the seemingly impossible project.

The European tour has been a success, but Serrat feels pressured from several sides. A media earthquake erupts when he insists on singing the song in Catalan, but Esteban sees an opportunity to regain control of the project.

Spain is glued to the Eurovision Song Contest as Esteban arrives at London's Albert Hall with Massiel. With the clear favourite being Cliff Richard's Congratulations, Esteban's only hope is not to make a fool of himself when Massiel takes the stage.
