Scarlett announces a great classic of Rotor Punch, the Royal race, in which all the contestants have to compete on the Shell Forest track. Everyone knows the rules, except the Tikis who just arrived in the tournament. Very confident at first, Corto loses her pride and realizes, as the race begins, that she should have agreed to form an alliance with another team to increase their chances of winning. The Tikis face, among others, the Manta and Hannah duo "from hell" but their solidarity will allow them to rise to the challenge.
A special race is announced by Scarlett on Turtle Island, which will see the Tikis and the Falcons competing against each other. The goal is to fly through four gates set up in four different environments. And in order to succeed, each team’s mechanix will have to customize their drone. While preparing for the race, Mouse becomes friends with Lila, the Falcons’ mechanix, to the point that they combine their knowledge to help each other. But Corto and Hannah don’t approve at all of their mechanix falling in friendship at first sight.
A dare between Lavinia and Corto takes unexpected proportions beyond the young pilot’s imagination, and Corto ends up representing the younger Droners in a race where the old “Boomers” generation – Whale, Lavinia, and Scarlett face off against the new generation of Droners. The younger generation wants Corto to win, but they tend to drown her in – very often contradictory – advice. Luckily, Enki and Mouse are always there to support Corto and help her stay on track, even when she gets into big trouble!
When Enki’s parents visit him, Scarlett takes this opportunity to host a race with the aim to prove the legendary Monkeyglide exists. She’s confident she once saw the animal whose existence the two professors have never managed to prove. But Enki soon gets jealous of how in awe his parents are of his opponents, the Planktons. He refuses to listen to their advice and stubbornly persists in following a strategy that doesn’t lead the Tikis to the expected discovery. Luckily, Corto and the Monkeyglide happen to share a soft spot for oromo-flavored crackers.
Oro grows nostalgic about his past and his forgotten life. He feels far from home. While racing against the Planktons, Maroro ends up stuck in the ice. The Tikis go to retrieve him, but discover that Oro and Maroro are gone. Could the mysterious ghost haunting the area have taken them away? Even if Scarlett forbids them, Corto still goes, along with Enki, Mouse and the Planktons. The ghost turns out to be Antaboga, an Aquae general at war with Scarlett for control over the Titan. He discloses the Planktons’ secret to the Tikis, showing Oro he isn’t the only Aquae stuck far away from home.
After winning the Whale Cup, the Tikis and the other Droners help Whale set up a system to protect Nuï from rising sea levels. But Whale realizes it’d take a lot more than that to save all the islands on TerrAqua. Whale has already designed a solution, but his invention would need the power of numerous Aquae crystals. Only one person on Terraqua owns that many – the Rust Queen, who rules over Turtle Isle. But in order to gain access to her safe and its myriad Aquae treasures, the Tikis will have to win the Rotor Punch competition.
