A Shot Through the Wall

Mike Tan (Kenny Leu) is a Chinese-American police officer who works the beat in Brooklyn. When he and his partner confront a group of teenagers, Mike is led on a pursuit through the winding halls of a nearby building. After coming to a blind corner, Mike draws his weapon and accidentally fires a single round through the wall, killing an innocent Black man in his apartment. Supported by his fiancée, Candace (Ciara Renee), Mike is devastated by the accident and torn between taking responsibility for his actions or dutifully following the police union's stance that no one is at fault. But when a video of the incident goes viral, the union starts to withdraw its support, filling Mike with anger, fear, and paranoia as he navigates the intricate and complicated worlds of media, justice, and racial politics.
