Aurélie Laflamme's Diary

Since her father’s death, Aurélie Laflamme has been feeling like she’s all alone in the world. She’s consumed with questions that she can’t seem to find the answers to. What if her father didn’t really die? What if he was an alien and simply left earth to return to his own planet? Wouldn’t that make Aurélie an alien too? After all, that would explain many weird things about her, such as why she feels different from everyone else (especially her mother); why she’s doomed with such a relentless clumsiness with words; or even why boys tend to get on her nerves all the time. Through the pages of her diary, Aurélie confides her innermost feelings of alienation and tries desperately to find her place in the world.
