Transfixed
A deeply human story about freedom and self-actualization, TRANSFIXED tells the story of a highly unconventional romance: Martine Stonehouse and John Gelmon are middle-aged underdogs, living with Asperger Syndrome. The autism spectrum disorder makes communication with others extremely difficult, but despite their social limitations both dream of getting married. However, straight-identifying John refuses to tie the knot until transsexual activist Martine gets gender reassignment surgery and no doctor in Canada will perform due to her increased surgical risk.
