Even though Halloween is Claire's holiday, she allows Phil to take over this year. So, instead of her usual fright-fest theme, he decides to turn the house into AwesomeLand!

Claire and Jay have to participate at a closet advertising. Meanwhile, Phil, Luke and Manny help Gloria to protect her privacy. Cam panics when he discovers that Lilly has a recital but sings off tune and Andy gets appendicitis.

Jay regrets buying Gloria a karaoke machine, Haley tricks her parents into believing she works as a waitress, Cameron attempts to upstage Andrew by putting together a fundraising event, Phil and Claire have a big fight.

When Claire finds a cigarette burn on the sofa, Phil threatens to cancel Christmas, Jay struggles with wanting to stick to his holiday traditions, and Mitchell and Cameron take Lily to the mall for her first picture with Santa.

The guys run into Jake's former teacher (Alicia Witt) who became a stripper after a fling with Charlie; Charlie gives her a room and a job to try and help her out, but things get out of control.

The team pursues a copycat serial killer who is recreating the techniques used by past famous murderers.
