Ponch accidentally breathes in some nitrous oxide leaving him ineffective. The CHP investigate reports of a tow truck driver robbing people whose cars break down.

When Jon and Ponch stop a speeding car on the freeway, a very large man emerges from the vehicle. The raging driver proceeds to take his car apart and wouldn't mind doing the same to Ponch who has made the mistake of laughing during the demolition.

Jon and Ponch investigate when Sindy is blamed for a major accident which leaves her unconscious and 11 people dead.

Ponch is asked to appear at his old high school's Career Day and Jon helps him entertain the audience.
