Shauna MacDonald

Raven-haired actress Shauna MacDonald, a stalwart of the Canuck indie film scene, launched her career with a lead role in the romantic roundelay "Jack & Jill." The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, teamed MacDonald with writer, director, and costar John Kalangis. She later appeared in the filmmaker's raw relationship drama "Love Is Work," and opposite Billy Zane in "The Mad," a critically acclaimed zombie thriller departure for writer-director Kalangis and his frequent leading lady. MacDonald returned to the horror well in two later entries of the lucrative "Saw" franchise (parts VI and "3D"), though she is perhaps best known for her dramatic role in the period CBC miniseries "Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion," as well as for bubbly performances in comedies like the made-for-Showtime political farce "Spinning Boris" and the Canadian cult hit series "The Blobheads." MacDonald, a versatile voice actor for several animated projects (and a popular CBC Radio One campaign), is also featured as a regular on Disney XD's inaugural original live-action series, "Aaron Stone," as the mother of the sci-fi adventure's eponymous world-saving teen superhero.
