Our story begins during the 1690s in New France in a small settlement in Wobik. Among the many things that have recently occurred in this dirty small town is a massacre and the influx of indentured servants, who are meant to populate the territory, and also do manual labour for the French landowners.

In the wilds of New France, Mathilde is entrusted with protecting the creek massacre survivors and Trepagny becomes vulnerable.

Still recovering from her attack, Mathilde restores the inn to business. Trepagny joins the eligible men for a matchmaking session.

The Iroquois return for their dead. Trepagny leads Melissande back to the Doma. Delphine embarks on her new life with Pierre Gasquet.

Mathilde encourages Bouchard to reestablish his authority. Trepagny solicits help for a dangerous mission. Delphine's fate changes course.

Trepagny and Bouchard incite war with their rescue attempt leaving the Sel and Father Gabriel's fate in the balance and Cooke's loyalty is tested.
