From Father to Daughter

In 1958, Giovanni and Franca Franza welcome twins Sofia and Antonio to their family of four children and expect the boy to take over the family distilleries; a decade later, firstborn Maria Teresa decides to challenge her father and go to university.

Five years later, the now 16-year-old twins' dreams of escaping the repressive family environment seem destined to fail; Franca's old love, Jorge, arrives in Bassano with a group of Italian emigrants returning home.

Franca decides to give up her plans with Jorge and tries to help her daughter Sofia; Maria Teresa graduates from university with honors in chemistry and starts working at the rival Sartori distillery.

With the transfer of the business from father to daughters, the Franza family members have new roles; the new Sorelle Franza distillery stands as a testament to women fighting for their desires and achieving them.
