The Girl Donwstairs

Yuan Jun Tang is an unassuming college freshman. He gained a place at Minsong University – and chose the college for a special reason. A former high school senior named Zhu Zhu studies at Minsong. And Yuan Jun Tang is still besotted with her, despite the fact that she graduated from high school some time ago. He hopes going to Minsong will help draw him close to Zhu Zhu, and let him with her heart. He moves into student accommodation. But one day, when he is on his way out to meet Zhu Zhu, he bumps into a young woman outside his building. Her name is Shiya Li, and Yuan Jun Tang eventually recognizes her as being a former member of an “idol”-style all-female pop group. He used to be a fan of the group when he was in high school. He soon learns that Shiya Li has moved into the apartment downstairs from his own accommodation. Eventually, he strikes up a friendship with her. He also befriends a girl named Ruoni Cui, whom he meets at a party. Could he find love with any of these women? This animation was based on a South Korean web-based cartoon (webtoon) series named “Yi Doona!” (translated as “The Girl Downstairs”) by Min Song Ah. “The Girl Downstairs” is a 2023 Chinese animated series that was directed by Dong Yi. A college freshman finds his heart torn between a former pop star, his high school senior, and a girl he met at a party! An unassuming college freshman student learns that the woman who lives downstairs is a former pop idol – will she steal his heart?
