Michelin-starred chef, Glynn Purnell, and cooking legend, Rachel Allen, present a new series of My Kitchen Rules UK. They will be judging 20 pairs of ambitious and enterprising amateur cooks who open their own restaurant at home for one night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a passion for cooking. Cooking against the clock, teams of two prepare and serve a three-course restaurant standard meal for their rival teams and the judges to experience and score. Dishes served late will be penalised. As the competition heats up the strongest teams will go through to the MKR Mansion Round and finally to Kitchen Headquarters where they will cook-off against each other in a series of challenges that will put their skills to the test. Which team has the flair and finesse to set them apart from the rest? The last team of the week in the North are friends, Claire and Sarah, clean eating aficionados from Cheshire. They have five hours to shop, prep and cook a three-course meal that will be critiqued and scored by their rival teams and the judges, Glynn and Rachel. With an emphasis on fresh produce and healthy eating, their restaurant, ‘The Outside Influence’ offers guests a starter of Duck Egg & Quinoa Salad with a Fresh Dill & Cucumber Pickle; a main of Hake Fish Finger, Sweet Potato Rosti, Pea Puree, Tomato Ketchup, Tartare Sauce & Chimichurri; and finally a dessert of Rhubarb & Strawberry Crumble with Lime & Coconut Syllabub.
