With no map or compass, the humans join the largest mammal migration across the Serengeti, attempting to navigate north through lethal open plains while facing thirst, apex predators and each other.

The herd decides camp for the night after entering challenging new terrain, but when a sudden downpour threatens to extinguish their fire, they face their greatest fear - a pride of lions in the pitch black.

The savage landscape takes a toll as one of the strongest members of the herd faints, the herd struggles with extreme hunger, faces a soaring cliff face and crosses a croc-infested river.

Danger, exhausting terrain and hunger push tensions higher and the group begins to crack under the pressure; two members are injured by a warthog; a new river presents the daunting threat of hippos.

The herd increases pace, but hunger has a serious effect on a diabetic member and a doctor is called; rising tensions cause the herd to split, but when their best defense is their size, and sticking together is vital.

A member with an infected leg and another with dysentery and dehydration struggle with the decision to tap out or go on with only 32 miles until the finish line.
