The Illegal Eater

Steven Page begins his journey into the Los Angeles culinary underground, getting help from friend Jason Priestley. Steven uncovers Un-Curry, a Bombay underground eatery in the Chef’s home. Next, Steven travels to Charleston, South Carolina to attend the underground restaurant Guerrilla Cuisine run by rebel Chef Jimi Hatt.

Steven begins in San Francisco, California and ends up in Yolo County for the all-raw Summer Solstice Supper Club. From there he heads to New Orleans, Louisiana and uncovers the land of the open container and a pop-up Filipino restaurant called Milkfish to eat balut.

Austin, Texas, self-dubbed as the city of weird. Steven lands in town looking for an odd illegal food experience and uncovers more than he bargained for. Then Steven heads to Ottawa, Ontario where he has a seat booked the elusive upscale underground restaurant Cobra.

Steven is in Chicago for a concert but stops at Yo Soy an underground restaurant first in order to take in the illegal eateries in the city. From there Steven travels to Dallas, Texas where he attends Frank an off-the-grid restaurant run by two former reality TV food competitors.

The Big Easy awaits Steven as he uncovers the soulful pop-up restaurant We’ve Got Soul that makes a weekly appearance in the back of a local dive-bar. Steven then heads to Brooklyn, New York where he attends Studio Feast, an illegal eatery that’s serving up a delicious seafood boil.

Steven journeys to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he encounters and underground restaurant that feels like an east-coast kitchen party. From there Steven ventures to San Francisco where he meets with writer Paul Myers and they go to a clandestine restaurant in the city’s Mission District.
