The Running Mates: Human Rights
Han Yoon Seo (Lee Yo Won) is one of the star investigators for a special unit charged with helping to uphold human rights in South Korea. However, she is secretly haunted by her past – and dark secrets she hides from her colleagues and people close to her. Although she is always impartial, methodical, and supremely focused at work, many think of her as cold, aloof, and impersonal. Life changes quickly for Han Yoon Seo when Bae Hong Tae (Choi Gwi Hwa) is assigned to her team. A former prosecutor, he is – in many ways – the polar opposite to Han Yoon Seo. With a strong sense of what is right, he often acts on impulse, following his heart rather than his head. Sparks fly when the duo is forced to work together on investigations. But could their bickering eventually help them collaborate better on difficult cases? Will their contrasting styles prove complementary? And will Han Yoon Seo finally find a soulmate she can reveal her secrets to? This series is based on a 2015 novel by author Song Shi Woo. “The Running Mates: Human Rights” is a 2019 South Korean drama directed by Kim Yong Soo.
