Ryan Hansen tries to get Kristen Bell and The CW execs Mark Pedowitz and Thom Sherman on board with his idea for a new TV show, a spinoff starring his Veronica Mars character, Dick Casablancas, as a private detective.

Rob Thomas, co-creator of Veronica Mars, is asked about his involvement in the spinoff. Ryan and Jason Dohring - who is really pumped about the new show - discuss ideas. Ryan reaches out to Chris Lowell to get involved.

Enrico Colantoni tells Ryan he is down to do the show - in return for a small favor. Percy Daggs III also agrees to put in an appearance … barely. Rose McIver guest stars.

As the spinoff unrolls with Dick on the case of a murder (and his stolen sunglasses), he is reunited with Madison Sinclair (Amanda Noret) and the ghost of his brother, Beaver (Kyle Gallner). But this is TV 101, and no character is safe from the proverbial death knell.
