As pressure builds on the West Yorkshire Police to catch the killer, it becomes clear that the police missed several opportunities to connect earlier killings to the Ripper case. And a mysterious series of letters and tapes further derails the investigation as murders continue. When the killer is apprehended, he is not charged with many of the crimes that experts now seem certain he committed.
