When Archie the Crocodile moves into the old house by the water hole, he decides to invite everyone to a party to celebrate. On the day of the party, only Frank and Buster turn up, and Archie is despondent. Doesn’t anyone like him? When a reluctant Ned arrives, he reveals that no one else has come because they’re all afraid of the old house. The Koala Brothers decide to help Archie paint the house and cheer it up. They send out invitations to another party, to which everyone comes, and Archie gets his wish to make lots of new friends.

Ned finds an old rowing boat in the outback, and decides that he wants to become a sea captain. The Koala Brothers help him repair the boat, but everyone has forgotten about one important thing. Water! They take the boat down to the water hole, where it gets stuck in the shallows. As Ned despairs of ever sailing his boat, Frank realises that, by putting it on wheels, Ned can land-sail to his heart’s content. With the Koala Brothers’ help, Ned’s dream really does come true.

When the Koala Brothers run out of fuel and land in the outback, they meet a little Penguin back-packer, who appears to have run out of water. The Koalas take her back to the homestead, and feed and water her. The Koalas become so fond of their new friend that Buster is sad when the day comes for her to leave. After taking some photographs of her new friends, and giving everyone a hug, the little Penguin sets off on her way. Later, the Koalas get a package from Antarctica – it’s from their little friend, whose name is Penny. Frank reassures Buster that, having made a new friend, they can always keep in touch, and that they’re sure to see her again.

Mitzi is surprised to discover that George, the Postman, seldom gets any letters himself, and so decides to write him one. George is very pleased, and decides to 'save' reading it until later. While out on his rounds, George accidentally loses the letter, and is sad. The Koala Brothers, flying on their daily patrol, spot George looking despondent, and fly down to investigate. They offer to try and spot the lost letter from the air. With Alice’s help, the letter is found. George is so happy that Frank decides to ask everyone to write him a letter, which they do. When George opens the post the next day, all the letters are for him! The Koalas and the others are pleased to see how even a little thing can make a friend happy.

When Mitzi skips by the store and asks Josie to go skipping with her, Josie tries to make excuses. In the end, she promises to go skipping with her later that day. Josie has always wanted to skip, but her feet seem to be too big, and the rope keeps catching on them. When the Koalas turn up in the plane to refuel, Josie is sad – she’s made a promise, and doesn’t know how she’ll ever learn to skip. The Koalas reassure her that they’ll think of something, and tell her to keep practising. While trying to solve a problem for Ned, Frank realises that Josie’s problem is simply that the rope is too short. He presents her with a longer skipping rope, and sure enough, it goes under her feet and works perfectly! Josie turns out to be a fantastic skipper, and the Koalas are pleased, yet again, to have been 'there to help'.

Alice drives over to the Koala Brothers’ homestead, hoping that they can help her remember something important. Despite their best efforts, the Koalas can’t jog her memory. Finally, Frank notices a letter in her shopping basket – Alice was driving over to give the Koalas an invite to afternoon tea. Frank gives Alice a piece of string to tie round her finger, and the 'remembering string' works for a while, until Alice loses it! She rushes about, looking everywhere for it, but to no avail. Only when the Koalas arrive at Alice’s for afternoon tea, and try out her home-baked cake, do they discover the whereabouts of the lost remembering string! Frank and Buster hug Alice. She will always be forgetful, but they love her that way, and wouldn’t have her be anything else.
