Secret Life of the Safari Park

Getting up close to the extraordinary animals of Knowsley Safari: from strutting baboons to rampant rhinos and a pride of lions ruled over by the twelve-year-old alpha male Sam.

Knowsley's two Amur tigers, Miron and Sinda, need to mate. Jemima, a nilgai antelope, is having a baby, but could it be twins. The wolf pack keep fighting amongst themselves. And the baboons swing into action.

Froja, Knowsley's elderly elk, is on a special diet, but the park's fallow deer and bullying bison keep nicking her dinner. Keepers worry that baby Bobby the baboon may be partially blind. And Meru the white rhino might be pregnant.

Purple the antelope has misplaced her calf. Ted the lion's old age is catching up with him. Marian the baboon has been over-grooming her baby son. And camels Marvin and Merlin are looking for love.

Dominant male bison Baldr is acting up and causing chaos. There's mutiny in the air in the baboon troop. A Somali wild ass with a poor seduction technique isn't impressing the three ladies in the park. And a tapir's snout has stopped working.

A rhino bull is mating aggressively and the wildebeest are being nuisance neighbours. A red river hog's got the blues. And an elderly baboon uses his wits and an ostrich egg to stay alive.
