Barry Coe

Actor Barry Coe was known for his roles on the silver screen. Barry Coe started his acting career landing roles in such films as the romance "Love Me Tender" (1956) with Richard Egan, the Lana Turner dramatic adaptation "Peyton Place" (1957) and "The Bravados" (1958). He also appeared in "A Private's Affair" (1959) and the comedic adaptation "But Not For Me" (1959) with Clark Gable. Barry Coe won a New Star Of The Year - Actor Golden Globe Award in 1959. His film career continued throughout the sixties and the seventies in productions like the Alan Ladd action picture "One Foot in Hell" (1960), the Dick Shawn adventure "The Wizard of Baghdad" (1960) and the historical feature "The 300 Spartans" (1962) with Richard Egan. He also appeared in "Fantastic Voyage" (1966) with Stephen Boyd and "Doctor Death: Seeker of Souls" (1973). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the biopic "MacArthur" (1977) with Gregory Peck and the Roy Scheider action flick "Jaws 2" (1978). Additionally, he appeared on the television special "The Pinballs" (ABC, 1976-77). Barry Coe more recently acted in "El Hombre Desnudo" (1987). Barry Coe died on July 16, 2019 in Palm Desert, CA at the age of 84.
