Jeremy Guilbaut

Canadian actor Jeremy Guilbaut began his career in teen dramas, but evolved into a leading man starring in hit productions in Canada and in the U.S. His best known film role was in the 2002 family adventure fantasy "Snow Queen." Based on the story by Hans Christian Anderson, Guilbaut played the part of Kai, the love of Gerda, who is kidnapped by the powerful Snow Queen, who wants to rule the Earth as its only season. Kai is charged with repairing a mirror to help the queen carry out her plan. The film was nominated for both Leo and Saturn awards. Guilbaut's first major television role was that of Derek Macmahon on the Canadian family drama "Edgemont." The show revolves around the issues faced by the young residents of the ficticious town of Edgemont. The show deals with themes including discrimination and sexuality and has won eight Leo Awards. From 2008 to 2009, he played the role of Andrew Vanderlee, a rescue swimmer for the Canadian Coast Guard who work along the British Columbia Coast, in the Leo Award-winning drama "The Guard." His character battles issues with post-traumatic stress disorder after witnessing the death of a family. He has also appeared in popular American television series such as "Battlestar Galactica," "Private Practice," and "Fringe."
