Originally premiering as a film at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival in May, it was broadcast in September 2014 as a four-episode miniseries on French television. A sequel, Coincoin and the Extra-Humans, was made by Dumont in 2018, featuring most of the cast of the original film.

The Human Beast

There is total amazement in the small village of Boulogne where nothing usually happens - a woman's headless body is found cut into pieces inside a cow. Captain Van der Weyden and his deputy Carpentier begin their investigation while P'tit Quinquin and his girlfriend Eve put the bazaar in the village.
