In this hour-long Christmas special, Noel treats Fieval the Labrador, who needs a total hip replacement; catching up with Scooby the Labrador cross, Jasper the puppy and Pixie the cat.

It's been fifteen years since Noel began expanding the boundaries of veterinary medicine at his practice in Surrey, and his soulmate, the Border terrier Keira has been by his side all the way. But on one dark night, Noel's life was turned upside down when Keira was hit by a van. Suddenly, the surgeon must face the possibility that his Keira may not be fixable.

Noel treats cockapoo Betsy, who has been receiving treatment after being hit by a van five months ago, but now she has gangrene.

Noel treats handsome Dobermann Dexter, who has a serious spinal condition, feisty feline Driver, who's been hit by a car, and sixteen-month-old Newfoundland Bailey, who has developmental elbow disease.

Sue and Phil know that their 10-year-old Doberman, Rolo, has a confirmed tumor, resulting in a limp and excruciating pain; an unusual patient is brought to the practice as an emergency by Ben and Melanie.
