Glasgow

S2 E3: Susan's adventure continues with something of a homecoming, as she explores the city of Glasgow. Starting with its oldest building, Glasgow Cathedral, Susan discovers a seat fit for only a Queen- and learns how centuries of craftsmen have left their mark in the building. Donning her hard hat and climbing to the top- she is even given the unique opportunity to leave her own! Then it's onto the home of Scottish football to meet the only Scot ever to have won a football world cup- before taking on the pros to try and score a goal herself at Hampden Park. Then, Susan discovers the birthplace of a dish that has been voted the most popular in the UK - Chicken Tikka Masala. A challenge awaits her- as she must prepare it for the inventor... Nestled in a Glasgow side street, Susan enters The Panopticon- the oldest music hall in the world- and hears of the role it played in creating the comic legend Stan Laurel. She learns why she's part owner of a herd of Highland Cows- before giving one of them a wash and blow dry, before attempting to find out the secret ingredients to Scotland's beloved Irn Bru. Finally, Susan travels to New Lanark where she discovers the world's first infant school and the spectacular Corra Linn Waterfalls. All of that- and she even gets the chance for a speed boat trip up Glasgow's iconic River Clyde.
