    Edinburgh
    Comedian Susan Calman starts her journey around Edinburgh and Scotland's stunning East Coast. Edinburgh is a city she has visited many times as a performer at the Festival Fringe but now she has the opportunity to get behind the scenes. Starting at the iconic castle dominating the city skyline, she gets behind the scenes access to the firing of the 1 o'clock gun and discovers the secret hiding place of Scotland's crown jewels during World War Two. Moving underground, she has a haunting experience as she delves into the ghostly history of Edinburgh's criminal past, before setting her sights further afield, as she sets sail for the Forth Bridge and hears the lesser known tragedy behind its construction. In St Andrews, the spiritual home of golf, she gets to grips with a charming variation of the game, pulling on her plus fours to master Hickory Golf. Then, at the world famous Rosslyn Chapel, she finds that a former RAF code breaker and his son have discovered centuries old secrets hidden in the very walls.

    Stirling
    Susan Calman continues her journey in Stirling, Scotland's historical heartland. At the Wallace Monument, she learns what it is like to hold Braveheart hero, William Wallace's sword, before climbing the stairs to the top to look out on one of the most stunning views of the country. She learns how to Highland Dance in the Great Hall of Stirling Castle- discovering a few secrets about Mary Queen of Scots along the way. She also hears just how loud a set of bagpipes can get- before having a go at the famous instrument herself. Scotland's other national sport - curling - is her next challenge, as she views the first ever curling stone, made right here in Stirling. She gets to have a go- and realises she'd better learn quickly, as she finds herself doing it in full view of a Scottish Olympian. At a Scottish medieval village, she joins the enthusiastic occupants as she learns the secrets of being a shield maiden- before her journey finishes on the majestic shores of Loch Lomond. Here, she gets up close to an iconic image of Scotland, the Golden Eagle. It proves an emotional experience for Susan- and a fitting end to a wonderful journey.

    Loch Ness
    Susan Calman continues her search for secrets on the banks for Loch Ness. It's a place of breathtaking beauty and is, of course, home to Scotland's most secretive superstar -the Loch Ness Monster herself. Susan meets the man who has spent almost 30 years waiting for Nessie- before having a go in a home-made submarine, specifically designed for monster hunting. She conquers her fear of heights on a quest to Ben Nevis, before learning why this area has always been famous for its strongmen. She even endures her own test of strength as she takes on one of these musclemen herself. Around the beautiful Glenfinnan, she gets behind the scenes at the famous train that doubled as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films, before riding in it across the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct. Here, she discovers a secret spot from which Bonnie Prince Charlie started the doomed Jacobite uprising and, as she finds out, some of her ancestors were most likely there in the watching crowd. She finishes her journey by going out on the water, this time, not on the hunt for a monster, but in search of seals. Her boat captain knows a special spot- and it turns out to be a close encounter with these wonderful creatures.

    Borders
    This time, Susan Calman visits the beautiful Scottish Borders. She gets behind the scenes at the famed Gretna Green, the UK's wedding capital and discovers the secrets of weddings past. She even gets a chance to play her own part in a wedding happening that very day. Susan follows the course of the world famous River Tweed, trying her hand at fly fishing as she goes. Apparently, it's all about casting- but it turns out that's easier to say than do. She meets the weavers at the last commercial hand woven tartan mill in the world and discovers that her own ancestors would have needed quite a large wardrobe for all of the tartans to which the Calmans can lay claim. She learns how rugby became a very different game when it made its way to the town of Melrose and is able to put her dancing skills to good use in an unexpected setting, as she learns the secrets of herding sheep with the smartest dog breed in the world - the Border Collie.

    Orkney
    Susan Calman finishes her Scottish odyssey on the spectacular Orkney Islands. From her approach, sailing past the Old Man of Hoy, the tallest sea stack in the UK, she is excited to be visiting this stunning setting for the first time. She delves into Scotland's ancient past at the 5000 year old village of Skara Brae, getting behind the scenes access to discover the home comforts of our Neolithic ancestors. She is then shown the secrets of an ancient burial site, where Vikings left graffiti that speaks down through the ages- and not all of it repeatable in polite company. The Vikings had a vital part to play in Orkney's history and Susan finds out more as she takes part in a Viking feast on the beach, complete with the authentic taste of grit in the bread! She takes to the waves once again, to help with the effort to conserve Orkney's brown crabs- but soon wishes she hadn't when the waves start coming over the boat. Settling her nerves, Susan pulls her first pint as she learns the secrets of Orkney's brewery. She then journeys across the stunning Scapa Flow, taking in the sombre and beautiful sight of a flotilla of scuttled World War 2 ships, visible above the waves to this day. Here, she discovers the secrets of Orkney's Italian chapel, another relic from the war era- and the site of a tale that moves her to tears.

    Cairngorms
    This time Susan explores the beautiful wilds of the Cairngorms. She goes behind the scenes of the area's most iconic sights to discover hidden riches and surprising secrets for an exclusive flavour of the Highlands. Covering an area twice the size of the Lake District, the Cairngorms is Britain's largest National Park- bursting with stunning scenery, history and heritage. Susan begins her journey with an exclusive visit to Balmoral Castle, the royal retreat of Her Majesty the Queen. After a tour of the grounds, she is given the unique opportunity to learn how to ceilidh in the Queen's Ballroom. Susan travels to the home of The Braemar Highland Games where she is taught the techniques of a good hammer throw by a three-time champion. She visits a special shortbread factory to do some taste testing, drives the world's oldest steam wagon and visits a castle that is pretty in pink. She designs her own street tag with a surprising group of street artists and tries to learn to love Scotland's most famous export - whisky. She ends her journey getting up close to an animal thought to be Britain's rarest mammal, now only found in the Scottish Highlands:- the Wildcat. With 5 cats of her own at home- it's a particular treat for Susan.
