S2, E5: Susan continues her Secret Scotland journey in picturesque Perthshire, a place of secret history and breathtaking beauty. With its luscious forests it's easy to see why it is known as Scotland's 'Big Tree Country'. Susan gets behind the scenes with Lady Mansfield at the magnificent Scone Palace, on the historical crowning site of Scotland's kings. She's allowed behind the red ropes at the special bedroom built for Queen Victoria's visit, which includes what is possibly the world's first ensuite. She also gets to try her hand at cracking a different kind of secret: - the palace maze. Susan explores the secrets of the Hermitage in Dunkeld- a purpose built forest playground for the aristocracy. She visits the Birnam Oak that inspired Shakespeare in Macbeth- and can't resist unleashing her inner actress. She learns the art of glass making from a local specialist- and finds out why the local newspaper is a vital tool. Then, donning as much safety gear as she can get her hands on, she gets up close to a colony of bees, making special honey from Scotland's heather. Moving on, Susan's journey ends in Dundee at the publisher of Britain's most famous comics - The Beano and The Dandy. Here, she is allowed into their secret archives- and gets a very special drawing lesson.
