Global Forest
Trees cover 4 billion hectares of our planet, a vast blanket of green that produces a third of the Earths oxygen essential to all life. It’s one of the most vibrant landscapes that changes constantly throughout the year. Stretching well into the northern territories, it sees hot summers and harsh cold winters, but provides sanctuary to a glorious and diverse array of animal life. Some animals use the forests only during the rich summer months, and fly south or curl up and sleep to avoid the worst of the weather, but there are many species that use the forest year round. For those creatures, the bears, wolves, moose, foxes, lynx and deer winters can be terrible hard; they must scrape snow and make the most of the tiniest scraps of food, but it’s worth it when spring sun brings on the fresh growth and transforms the lush forest.
