Denise DuBarry

Best known for her role as nurse Lieutenant Samantha Green from the series "Black Sheep Squadron" (NBC, 1976-78), Denise DuBarry was an actor, a philanthropist, a businesswoman and a film producer. DuBarry grew up in the United States and in Central and South America, where her father's work took the family. After her parents' divorce her family moved to Granada Hills, California. DuBarry graduated from high school and spent considerable time performing childcare duties for her four younger siblings while her mother worked. DuBarry's acting career began in the mid-1970s, when she appeared in commercials for brands like Michelob and Chevrolet and made guest appearances on television shows like "Wonder Woman" (ABC, 1975-79), and "The Gong Show" (NBC, 1976-78). In 1979 director Hal Ashby cast her in the Peter Sellers movie "Being There". That same year, DuBarry turned her yoga practice into a business, opening Malibu Yoga, a studio that catered to wealthy Hollywood clients. In 1986 DuBarry appeared in the cult film "Monster in the Closet." In the 1990s DuBarry and her husband Bill Hay met. The couple began to produce infomercials. In the early 2000s DuBarry founded Kaswit, Inc. a direct marketing company that produced infomercials designed to sell fitness products and dog training video courses among other things. DuBarry died in March, 2019 after contracting a very rare fungal infection.
