Melvyn Hayes

Melvyn Hayes was an accomplished actor who led an impressive career, primarily on the big screen. Hayes's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "The Man Who Loved Redheads" (1955) starring Moira Shearer, the Peter Cushing adaptation "The Curse of Frankenstein" (1957) and the drama "Woman in a Dressing Gown" (1957) with Yvonne Mitchell. He also appeared in the Cliff Richard musical "Summer Holiday" (1963). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Anjelica Huston dramatic adaptation "A Walk With Love and Death" (1969), "Carry on England" (1976) with Kenneth Connor and the Christopher Mitchell comedy "What's Up Superdoc" (1978). He also appeared in the TV special "Here Come the Double Deckers" (ABC, 1970-71). He also was featured in the TV movie "The Zany Adventures of Robin Hood" (CBS, 1983-84). He also lent his distinctive voice to "Budgie the Little Helicopter" (Fox, 1995-96). Hayes most recently voiced characters in "Jack & the Beanstalk" (HBO, 1999-2000).
