The journey begins in North Devon under the shadow of England's highest sea cliff, the 1,000ft-tall Great Hangman, and finishes up on the stunning three-mile golden sands of Woolacombe. Along the way, Michael is joined by Raynor Winn.

Michael Portillo is on the rugged north Cornwall coast, coinciding with a dramatic storm blowing in from the Atlantic. He begins at Widemouth Bay, a gigantic stretch of sand and rock with ancient links to the Celtic nations of Wales.

Michael Portillo's southwest coast path adventure is his final stretch in Cornwall. He takes in a coastline of hidden coves, a stunning sub-tropical garden and smugglers' creeks, immortalised by Daphne du Maurier in her novel `Frenchman's Creek'.

Featuring the shortest leg on Michael's odyssey so far, at just ten miles long. This walk takes in a broad sweep of eroding shingle coastline, peppered with hidden coves, and some of the most picturesque beaches he has encountered.

Michael's adventure begins on Hope's Nose, a unique headland outside Torquay on the English Rivera, where Michael embraces as many experiences as he can along a coastline formed 280 million years ago.
