Their goal is Miami, but first, Russetid! Marion and Marit, who were best friends and partners of synchronized swimming, were looking forward to spring break and their lives in the US after high school in Norway. However, to their devastation, a sex video that involves one of them leaks, and a feminist hacker named Fanny is on a mission to find the culprit. Because of the leak, Marion and Marit's friendship is ruined. At the beginning of the show, which starts from the end, they are both outcasts and are no longer friends. With a few glimpses of what led them in this direction, we learn the entire incident has something to do with a Norwegian tradition called "russetiden." The first episode opens with a tragic incident in the pool. The truth of what happened is revealed in reverse chronology.

Marit is with the other girls from the "russebuss." She is a part of the group, and everything seems to be going her way. Marion, on the other hand, has no one. Marion's former best friend Marit is partying with her new friends without her. Marion's little brother finds out about her sex video, and the feminist hacker Fanny is on a mission to figure out who leaked the sex video, even though a small part of her thinks Marion leaked it herself. Since the leak, guys take advantage of Marion. The synchronized swimming coach informs Marit that a scout from Miami will be visiting, but Marit will be without her synchronized swimming partner Marion at the joint training for the coming event. Unfortunately, Marit's attendance will serve no purpose without her partner.

Marit is disappointed that Marion ditched her at a party over the weekend, and Marion discovers for the first time that there is a sex video from the night she spent with two boys: her crush Christian and Sanna's boyfriend Jesper. All the girls shun her. Fanny contacts Marion for the first time. Marion realizes the sex video is already spreading online, and her world has just turned upside down.

Marion is getting cred for finally getting laid with Christian. At this point, no one knows about the sex video. Marion and Marit attend a party at the russebuss, where Christian jokingly insults Marion. Marit defends her but gets thrown out of the bus for being a party pooper. Despite her friend's loyalty, Marion chooses to stay at the party. Marit sees the sex video for the first time after her younger sister sends it to her. Fanny's story before the sex video leak also unfolds. Circumstances in her life reveal why she is so determined to help Marion find the culprit of the sex video leak.

It's the first day of "russefeiring," also known as "russetid," a monthlong Norwegian tradition for graduating high school seniors, where they wear certain colors and rent a party bus. On the boys' bus, which they call “Inferno,” the boys rate all the girls on the girls' bus called “Ass if." Marion gets an eight out of ten, but Marit doesn't get rated at all, which means the boys think that she's a zero. Marion is with the other girls preparing the bus for its first ride as their "russebuss," a party bus dressed for the "russetid." Marit realizes that Marion isn't showing up for swimming practice because she is at a party, high on drugs and hooking up with her crush Christian. As the night continues, Christian, Marion, and Sanna's boyfriend Jesper make a sex video.
