In the crime-ridden city of Ergastulum, the police hire mercenaries Worick and Nic to take out a gang leader making enemies with the mafia, and Nic sympathises with one of the leader's abused prostitutes.

Worick and Nic aid a doctor at a local clinic when a hired superhuman thug known as a Twilight harasses him into joining a criminal organisation; as Alex watches Nic fight the Twilight, she learns more about the men she works for.

Alex accompanies Nic on a delivery run for Dr. Theo and learns about the dark past that binds Worick and Nic together.

Worick uses his photographic memory to help police identify badly damaged bodies found in District 6; as the Handymen fight a Twilight involved in a gang war, they recall their early days together.

Worick searches for the people responsible for the attack on Monroe's men; Nic overdoses on Celebrer and fights Doug, a fellow Twilight gone renegade now targeting Monroe; a shocked Alex encounters a ghost from her past.

Worick discovers the true motivation behind the attacks on Monroe and discusses the plot with Nic at the clinic; Worick returns to his office to find Dr. Theo and a hallucinating Alex.
